<p>A comparative assessment of carbon stocks in the aboveground phytomass of lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl.) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in experimental plantation in the middle taiga of the Komi Republic was carried out. The plantation was established in Syktyvkar forestry by planting 2-year-old seedlings in the spring 2006 on a pine cutting of 2004 with an area of 1 hectare. Pine seedlings of local origin were used as a control. The aboveground phytomass of both species was evaluated using the model tree method. It has been established that the carbon content in the phytomass components varies from 47.5 ± 1.7 to 52.5 ± 1.8 % of dry matter. As a result of the studies, it was shown that for most fractions of the aboveground phytomass of lodgepole pine and Scots pine, it is quite similar, with the exception of lodgepole pine bark, in which the carbon content is higher than that of Scots pine. Carbon stocks in kg per 1 tree are calculated for different diameters and for stands of lodgepole pine and Scots pine in tons per hectare (tС/ha) of dry matter. We detected that the accumulation of carbon per 1 tree with the same thickness in lodgepole pine is 1.3–2.1 times higher than in Scots pine. It was found that 15-year-od lodgepole pine with a planting density of 2500 seedlings per hectare accumulates 6.2 tC/ha, Scots pine is 1.6 times less. For the first time, data on the carbon content and its stocks in the lodgepole pine plantation were obtained. The results of the conducted studies can be used to assess carbon deposition in forest plantation.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>искусственные насаждения</kwd><kwd>экспериментальные культуры</kwd><kwd>сосна скрученная (Pinus contorta)</kwd><kwd>концентрация углерода</kwd><kwd>депонирование углерода в фитомассе</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>forest plantation</kwd><kwd>experimental cultures</kwd><kwd>lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl.)</kwd><kwd>carbon content</kwd><kwd>carbon deposition in phytomass</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">1.
